Last Spring the Town of Amherst IT Staff and the Town Meeting Coordinating Committee have revised a popular new portal that the public can now use to contact Town Meeting Members via email. This new email portal will enable the public to communicate easily with Town Meeting Members about issues that will come before Town Meeting.
Current Town Meeting members must opt in to receive emails from the public by sending an email to TownMeeting@amherstma.gov. The Town Meeting Coordinating Committee urges all Town Meeting members with email addresses to join. TM members' email addresses will not be revealed unless they choose to respond the the individual sending an email to the precinct list.
Correspondence shared using this distribution list is considered a public record and subject to the public record law.
Members of the Amherst public who wish to contact Town Meeting representatives may click the links below for their Precincts. Messages will be forwarded directly to the appropriate Town Meeting Member precinct groups. Messages will go to all members in a precinct who have opted in, rather than to individual members only.
Please include your name, address, and voting precinct in all communications. Click here for a searchable map of precincts. See the Fall 2017 Special Town Meeting Warrant to see articles to be voted at Town Meeting.
Ex Officio TM Members (Moderator, Manager, Chairs of Finance Committee and Library Trustees, members of Select Board and School Committee): ExOfficio@amherstma.gov
If there is any Town Meeting member who would like to be added to their precinct list, please email TownMeeting@amherstma.gov with your request. Please provide your name, address, precinct and preferred email address.
The 2017 Fall Special Town Meeting is Monday, November 6, 2017.
